A Little Photo Shoot

Sunday afternoon Garrett was busy cutting down trees, so Ashlynn and I decided we should have a little photo shoot.  After deciding on a outfit (the tutu I made for Ashlynn a  few weeks ago) we got things ready.  I still haven't picked up my backdrops from my parent's house so we had to improvise.   At first I tried to use a sheet draped over a few chairs, but that didn't work so well, so I decided to just use the nice wood paneling in the house as the background.  The contrast between the wood and the tutu makes for an interesting photo.

Father's Day!

On  Father's Day we met up with Garrett's family for a nice breakfast.  Ashlynn was a big show off for everyone.  Shayne was being very nice and sharing his pancakes with Ashlynn.  She absolutely loved them!  Shayne is a great big brother, and really likes spending time with Ashlynn.  During breakfast Ashlynn made friends with our waitress, she even came over and sat with Ashlynn for a few minutes.  Ashlynn really wanted to wear her big Pink and Green Bow to breakfast.  I think it's really cute, but Garrett just doesn't get it...

Swimming with friends!

On Saturday we got together with Kristi, Kallie & TJ.  It was really nice to play with them for the afternoon, we haven't been able to have a play date in awhile.  It was really nice out so we went swimming in the pool.  This was Ashlynn's first time swimming in a real pool.  Kallie and TJ are experienced swimmers since their trip to Mexico this past winter.  It's always fun to get the three kids together and let them play.  Ashlynn really loves to play with her buddies!

After we were done swimming the kids were hungry so we ate some lunch by the pool.

Pasta Time

 

I decided it was time that Ashlynn started just eating whatever we are having for dinner.  Last night Pasta was on the menu.  I wasn't sure how Ashlynn would like the sauce since she hasn't had any tomato yet.  I should have figured that she would LOVE it.  When it was all gone she started crying until Garrett gave her a little more.  She was being quite the ham at dinner.  She was hitting the highchair, and then would crack up laughing at her self.  Her sassy little personality is starting to develop more and more everyday!

Ashlynn spent some of Sunday playing with her Activity Center that she got for Christmas (mostly pushing it across the floor)  She also spent some time reading her favorite book about animals.  Dogs seem to be her favorite animal so far.

This weekend the weather was less than perfect.  We spent lots of time playing inside.  Roxy and Ashlynn had some fun sharing food and kisses.  As much as I try to keep them from licking each other I have realized there is nothing I can do to stop them.  I guess I will pick my battles....

Time for Food!

For dinner last night Ashlynn had an interesting meal.  She ate Cheerios and Avocado.  I guess I need to go grocery shopping, although Ashlynn didn't seem to mind too much!

After Dinner Ashlynn needed a bath for sure!  Bath time has become one of  her favorite times of the day.  I don't mind it either!  She just has so much fun playing with her toys and bubbles.  Lately by the end of the bath I am soaking wet.

Right before bed Daddy got home from work- He thought Ashlynn wanted to be a 'Bad Ass Baby' as he puts is.  I guess in order to be a 'Bad Ass Baby' you have to wear a bandanna like him....

A Weekend of Birthday Parties!

This weekend was busy.  We had 2 cookout birthday parties.  On Saturday we went to Mackenzie's 3rd birthday.  The weather was great, and everyone had a good time.  Ashlynn was a very good girl.  She got to visit with her Birthday Buddies Kallie & TJ.  All 3 of them are getting so big.  (Not too long and we will be celebrating their 1st birthday!)

On Sunday we went to Grammy & Grampa's house for Uncle Jordan's Birthday.  Ashlynn had a great time eating LOTS of watermelon.  She got it all over herself, and me.  After the watermelon she went for a little dip in the pool.  Luckily Grammy had one of Auntie Lauren's old bathing suits for Ashlynn to borrow.  After her swimming she got to visit with Great Grammy for a little while.  Later on Uncle Jordan and Jess gave her some more watermelon.  By the time we went home she was exhausted!

Getting Started

Well this has been quite the year for the Wain family.  In 2010 Garrett and I got married, and then a few months later Ashlynn was born.  To add to the craziness we bought our first (and only) home in February, and got another dog.  We went from just us to a family of 3, with 2 dogs, oh and how could I forget the 26 chickens we have.  Most days I feel like I live on a farm! 

Fast forward a little bit.  It's now June and Ashlynn is already 10 months old.  She is an amazing little girl and already has quite the sassy attitude, I'm sure she must get that from her father's side of the family....
