Trimming the Tree & Christmas Cards

This year we decided we wanted to have a really special Christmas tree to help us get into the holiday spirit.  It was also our first Christmas in our house, and we actually have room for a large tree.  When I say large, I'm talking about 13 feet!  We let Ashlynn pick out the tree.  After walking through all the trees for awhile Ashlynn started pointing to one of the biggest trees on the lot!  When we got home we realized just how big this tree was.  We had some fun decorating it.  Garrett had to use a ladder to put the lights on.

A few days later I had some fun doing Ashlynn Christmas photos.  Some are cute, others she was being a little crazy.

We want to wish you all a happy holiday, and a great 2012!

Chemo Session 2- Round 10

This week Ashlynn had another long treatment.  We were glad Nana was able to come with us.  We went up to David's House on Thursday night and stayed in the Sheep room.  Ashlynn really liked looking at the sheep all over the room.  This was the nicest room we stayed in, it over looks the nice christmas tree in the yard.  Ashlynn had a really hard time falling asleep this week.  So much so that after a couple hours of crying the woman staying next door knocked on the door to offer to help.  Looking back that was a nice thing for her to do, but at the time I was completely annoyed that she thought she should come knock on the door while Ashlynn was screaming her head off....

Thankfully Chemo went a lot better than our overnight!  The day was still long, but Ashlynn had fun playing, and took a couple good naps.  She also seemed to be feeling pretty well which was a huge plus since Christmas was only a couple days away.  We got to the clinic at about 7:15am and left at about 6pm, but we are happy that we don't have to stay at CHaD anymore.  We are enjoying a little break from chemo this week, and will go back for all of Ashlynn's MRI's and other scans on the 10th, if her blood is good as well we will do chemo as well to being the 3rd session of chemo.  Boy we will be happy when this is all over!

Chemo Session 2 Round 8 & 9

With the Holidays fast approaching we have been very busy and I have been slacking on keeping the blog up to date.  My apologies!  I think I have missed updating the last 2 trips to chemo.  All has gone smoothly.  Treatment 8 Ashlynn had to have a blood transfusion, but treatment 9 was a breeze!  During one of the treatments Ashlynn was given a really fun hat to keep her head warm!  She thought it was pretty cool.

We are gearing up for another one of her tough treatments this Friday.  We are hoping she won't be as sick as last time, as the day after treatment is Christmas eve!

Here are a few pictures from the last few weeks!

Thanksgiving

This is a much overdue post.  Thanksgiving Day we spent with my side of the family.  My brother and his wife cooked us a delicious meal.  Ashlynn enjoyed eating lots of Turkey, and then really enjoyed some of the pies that everyone brought!  She also had TONS of fun playing with her cousins, and her cousin's cousins.  Ashlynn was showing off her new walking skills to anyone who would pay attention to her.  She also had some fun reading with Danica's father!  Ashlynn was in a great mood all day, she even helped Uncle Chris do the dishes!  After the dishes Uncle Chris gave Ashlynn some limes to try.  She wasn't so sure about that, but she kept putting it back in her mouth.

Towards the end of the afternoon we tired AGAIN to get a nice picture of Nana and her grand-babies.  My conclusion is this will never really happen until they are a bit older!
