PLAY!

Ashlynn has been spending Fridays with Nana over the summer.  This week I meet them at PLAY at the end of the day.  Ashlynn had a blast exploring all of the different structures and things to play with. She loved the wooden boat with the slide, the plasma cars, and the different bounce houses.  Ashlynn did a great job playing with herself, and also playing with the other kids that were there.  Although she did think the pink plasma car was all hers!  I think we will defiantly be going back to PLAY again!  It completely wore Ashlynn out, which is any mothers dream!

Ashlynn's Birthday Party

We had a great turn out for Ashlynn's 2nd Brithday/ Done with Chemo Bash.  I would guess there were about 60 people who came.  Ashlynn had a fun day playing with all of her buddies, eating, and blowing out her candles.  She absolutely loved her  'Very Hungry Caterpillar' cake that her Grammy made her.  The playground and the new pool seemed to be a big hit will all the kids!

Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate with us.  We are so happy to have so many wonderful gifts to donate to other children who are going through chemo!  CHaD will be so greatful, and we are looking forward to delivering gifts when Ashlynn has her next appointment in September (hopefully all the gifts will fit in my car- seriously, there were are that many gifts to be donated!).  Also a HUGE thanks to Matt for roasting the pig for us!  and of course thanks to Garrett for all his hard work getting ready for the party!

The curse of not being able to get a good Nana photo continues....

Camp-7/8/12

July 8th we decided at the last minute to head up to camp for the afternoon.  I love that it only takes us 45 minutes to get there, and we can go for just the afternoon.  We left our house about 11 and stayed at camp till 3:30, and then went to visit Grandpa Wally and Grammie Jane.

Ashlynn had a blast in the lake, and wanted to be swimming the entire time we were there.  Thank goodness she likes her new froggy life jacket, because she is fearless, and wants no help from us.  I'm glad that she likes the water, but she has to realize she actually doesn't know how to swim yet.  After she was turning blue and shivering we finally convinced her to take a break from the water and swing for awhile.  It seems like she also enjoyed this.

At Grandpa Wally and Grammy Jane's house Ashlynn had fun visiting, and looking at all of Grandpa Wally's animals.  Grandpa Wally is the original hunter of the family, so naturally Garrett loves to go see Grandpa Wally and talk about hunting.  Ashlynn thought the taxidermy beaver was pretty cool.
