This week was another long treatment. Due to the expected snow we headed to David's House on Thursday night so we didn't have to travel in the snow. Turned out it didn't snow Friday morning. Oh well. We stayed in the Dinosaur room this week. Ashlynn didn't really like this room as much as some of the other rooms we stayed in. She did a great job sleeping away from home, except for the early wake ups. Friday morning at 4:30 am I heard her saying 'hey mamma, hey mamma'. She did go back to sleep for a little while before we had to get up to head over to the clinic. Treatment this weekend felt extremely long, but went very well. Ashlynn didn't get sick at all during or after treatment. This hasn't happened during a long treatment for quite some time. I'm hoping we have finally figured out the right timing and medications. Ashlynn spent the day entertaining people. She showed everyone how she can jump like a from and ribbit. We also walked a few laps around the clinic. Most of the day she played in out room so I could work (thank you Elmo and coloring for making that possible). Overall this weeks treatment went better than expected, and it's one less treatment we have to get through. We are certainly looking forward to when we are all done with this! I didn't bring my camera, so i only have a few from my phone... I will have some better ones next week! Although I do have an adorable clip of her snoring.

Grammy Turns 87!
We all got together for Grammy's Birthday last weekend. Grammy turned 87 this year, way to go Grammy. We tried to get a nice picture of her and her Great Grand Kids. Notice how all of my brother's family looks good, and Ashlynn is being crazy. After many attempts with both me and my brother taking pictures, we really didn't get any great ones. Maybe we will try again at the next family gathering. Although sometimes these crazy pictures are more fun to look back on.
Grammy did a great job blowing out her candles, at 87 she's still got it!

Chemo Session 3 Round 4, 5, & 6
I haven't been very good about keeping up with the blog the last few weeks, so here is an update on the last few treatments. Ashlynn has been a little trooper, as always!
Treatment 4 was a long one, and Ashlynn almost made it through without getting sick. We tried some new medications, and different timing for old medications. We are getting close to finding something that works. Hopefully this week things will go smoothly!
Treatment 5 was a little different. Ashlynn ended up in the hospital because of a fever on Tuesday of that week. We stayed in the hospital from Tuesday night until late Wednesday night, and then were able to go home. Ashlynn had RSV which was an explanation for her fever, so luckily we didn't have to stay the full 48 hours. Ashlynn was able to get her chemo while we were at the hospital.

A Goat Named Ashlynn
A few weeks ago I was on Facebook (go figure...) and I noticed Jenness Farms was looking for name ideas for their female baby goats that were due to be born in the next couple weeks. I suggested that Ashlynn would love a goat named after her. We are big fans of their products. Their 'Bum Butter' diaper cream has been a life saver for us since Ashlynn has started Chemo. I'm not kidding when I say a life saver, she was getting bloody sores from all the harsh chemical in her chemo. Since we have been using the Bum Butter she has not had any rash at all, we are going on 4 months now! So back to my story about the baby goats. Lori Co Owner of Jenness Farms said she was happy to name a goat after Ashlynn. Lori also invited us over to see all the babies and let Ashlynn pick out the goat she would share a name with.
Last Friday was the big day, the weather wasn't great, but that didn't stop us. Shayne also got to join in the fun! We had a little incident on the way out to the goat barn, being my typically graceful self I fell down Lori's stairs while I was holding Ashlynn. We were both fine, she was more scared than anything. The comical thing was I had just finished telling Shayne he needed to be super careful on the stairs. After we got out to the barn Ashlynn was still a little scared from the fall and then she heard the Turkeys and got a little more scared. We learned at out last visit to Jenness Farms that Ashlynn isn't too fond of the noises the Turkeys make. Shayne was the first one to get into the goat pen, next I went in, and then Ashlynn decided she would join us. After letting some goats get close she picked a goat with a adorable question mark on it's head. She was just a snuggly goat, and gave Ashlynn as little kiss! Somehow she seemed to know she was an important goat, all of her sisters went into the little house, and she stayed to hang out with us! We are so lucky to be able to do fun things like this, it certainly makes the tough days a little more manageable. Sending a huge THANK YOU to Lori and Jenness Farms- and if you haven't tried their soaps or other products you really should!

Chemo Session 3 Round 3
Chemo last week was very uneventful! I LOVE when I can say that. Ashlynn was feeling so well we didn't even have to stay until the lab processed her blood work. It has been quite some time since we have been able to go to chemo and get back home by lunch time. We are always glad to get one more treatment done!
