Visiting Great Grandpa Wally & Grammie Jane

Here are a couple photos that were just too cute not to share!

The weekend before Thanksgiving we stopped in to visit with Garrett's Grand Father and Grammie.  Grandpa Wally was the one who introduced Garrett to hunting.  Whenever we go an visit Garrett and Grandpa Wally talk about hunting and animals pretty much the whole time we are there.  This trip the topic was trapping.  Garrett got a lesson on how to use the different kids of traps.  Jackson also got some time to visit with Great Grandpa Wally and Great Grammie Jane.  I'm sure Jackson will follow in Grandpa Wally's and Daddy's footsteps and enjoy being in the woods and hunting.  Ashlynn was spending the day with my brother's family, so missed this visit, but it was nice for Grandpa Wally & Gammie Jane to be able to focus on Jackson without Ashlynn starving for attention, and it's nice for Garrett and myself to have individual time with each kid.

Visiting Great Grammy

Recently my Grammy (my Dad's Mom) moved to an assisted living home in Deerfield called the Inn.  She is really enjoying it there, and they take really good care of her.  When Jackson was almost a week old we went to introduce her to him.  She had fun showing us around her new home, and visiting with her Great Grand Children.  She has 7 Great Grand Children now!

Jackson's first week

I haven't had much time to take pictures, or update the blog since Jackson made his grand entrance into the world.  He was born on October 29, 2012 at 3:21 am.  He weighed 10lbs 1oz, and was 21 inches longmat birth.  We arrived at the hospital on October 28th at 7 am to start the induction process.  Garrett and I were both under the impression that Jackson would arrive by dinner time, well we were both wrong....  I will spare all the details, but I will say it was a long labor for both Garrett and myself.  Jackson did great through the whole thing.

Jackson was born during hurricane Sandy, and our first day an a half at home was spent without power.  I am beyond glad we spent the money on a generator this spring!  We have spent the week adjusting to having 2 kids.  Ashlynn has been doing a fabulous job being a Big Sister.  She has almost no jealousy of her brother, and is as helpful as you can expect a 2 year old to be, we are very grateful for that.

A big thanks to everyone for their kind wishes, gifts, meals, and helping us out.
