Mother's Day at the New England Aquarium

We spent Mother's Day at the New England Aquarium with my Mother, my brother, his wife, and my nieces and nephew.  We were sad Garrett had some side work to do that day and couldn't join us.  Although he did promise me we could bring Ashlynn back another day to have some more fun.  Ashlynn, Evi, Maddi and Ethan seemed to have a great time.  Ashlynn really loved looking at the 8 foot anaconda, and most of all she loved the Sting Ray Touch Tank Exhibit.  Ashlynn's arms were too short to actually touch the Sing Rays, but she didn't know that.  Every time a Sting Ray swam by she would yell "I touch it, I touch it' with a HUGE grin.  Ashlynn was all over the place, and decided right after we got there that the stroller was not going to work.  She needed to be able to walk all over and see everything.    Actually it was more like running everywhere to see everything.  The bad mommy that I am- I was seriously considering a kid leash after that trip...

After the Aquarium we walked to the North End for lunch.  We had lunch at a nice restaurant, that even had an accordion player.  Ashlynn was so tired from the aquarium that she slept through the whole thing.  After lunch we walked to Bova's Bakery to get some yummy desserts, before going back to the car.

On the way home we stopped in to visit Jesse and Kim, and their precious little girl, Lily.  Lily was only 6 days old!  She is adorable!  Ashlynn was very curious about her, and kept tickling her feet.

Thanks to my brother for driving so I didn't have to get stressed about it!  I was also pleasantly surprised to come home to some beautiful roses from Garrett- not a bad Mother's Day! <3

Chemo Round 4 Session 6

Chemo last week was nice and quick.  After chemo we stayed at David's House so Ashlynn could enjoy their playground.  She is usually so sick when we stay there that she has never had a chance to play there.  We were also participating in the March of Dimes the next morning in Lebanon so it saved us a lot of driving!

It was a really nice day, and Ashlynn had a blast playing on the playground.  Since Ashlynn is so fair, and the chemo makes her even more sensitive to the sun, she has to have a hat on at all times.  She loves her 'berry hat', but it is always in her eyes.  It drives me crazy, but is better than a sun burn!  The playground is so big Ashlynn couldn't decided what she wanted to play with, so she tried out EVERYTHING!  She kept going back to the dinosaur see saw, and the climbing cube.  She was very proud that she could climb up the cube, and go down the slide all by herself.  Every time she went down the slide she would let me know 'Momma I did it!' with a HUGE smile on her face.  She is getting to be such a independent girl.

After the playground we decided to go for a drive around the Lebanon area.  Ashlynn needed a nap, and I had a feeling she wouldn't sleep in our room at David's House.  We saw a lot of very cute farm houses.  I'm sure Garrett would move up there in a heart beat.  I don't think I would mind that much either.  We stopped to take a few photos of some grazing cows.  I love that a lot of the farms didn't mow all of the dandelions, like my Mom always says, why did someone decide they are weeds and not flowers...

Chemo Round 4 Session 4 & 5

Trying to get caught up yet again....  2 weeks ago Ashlynn has a long treatment, and there's not much to say about it except it was a horrible long day.  I would say this was her worst treatment by far.  We will be thankful that we never have to live that day over again!  I don't even have any pictures except on from the ride home, after she passed out.  She bounced back pretty quickly, and by Sunday was acting like her normal crazy self.

Last week went much smoother!  Ashlynn had an 8 am appointment, and we were on our way home by 9:50.  She had some fun coloring and playing in the car while we waited for her lab work, and her chemo to be made.
