On Sunday we went apple picking with some of the family. Garrett was out hunting again so he didn't come with us. I guess absence makes the heart grow fonder during hunting season! We still managed to have a good time without him. I decided I didn't want to lug the big off road stroller with us so we opted for the Beco Carrier instead. At fist Ashlynn rode around on my back, but that was a little hard for her to actually be able to pick apples, so I turned her around to ride in front. She seemed to enjoy this a little more, and then I could see her cute face! She also got a wagon ride with her cousins. Thanks Maddi and E for being her 'seat belts"! Ashlynn got an up close look at the sheep that also lived on the farm. She even got a lick on the hand. She giggled, and Nana almost had a heart attack. I had to keep reminding her that Ashlynn would be fine.
Finally we made it up to the orchard to pick our apples. Ashlynn spent most of the time saying "Apple"- it is one of her favorite words and foods right now. We picked lots of apples to turn into yummy treats when we got home. So far we have made apple crisp and apple sauce! After we picked our apples we hung out by the pumpkins for awhile. I got a couple small pumpkins to use to make a pie or maybe some pumpkin bread.
Tucked into her carrier nice and safe
